3 Summer Events You Should Put on Your Calendar Right Now

There’s something special about spending the summer at Wintergreen Resort. Each week there is something new going on, like summer movies under the stars and fun at Discovery Ridge Adventure Center, but there are a few major summer events that make a weekend at Wintergreen one to remember.

The 4th of July Jubilee

Wintergreen Summer Music Festival

Dates: July 9th – August 7th, 2016

Summer at Wintergreen Resort also brings the joy of music to the mountains. This year, the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival is celebrating 20 years with a fantastic performance by the US Army Chorus (July 6th), “Bach with a Twist” at Bold Rock Hard Cider (July 14th), a Wine and Paint fundraiser (July 18th), a performance by Albemarle Pipes and Drums at Rockfish Valley Community Center (July 26th), and too many more to mention.

Summer’s End Festival (Labor Day Weekend)

Dates: September 2nd-5th, 2016

Details: Labor Day Weekend kicks off with a bonfire on Friday and ends with a day at Lake Monocan. See the full schedule here.

Summer has to end sometime, but the fun at Wintergreen Resort doesn’t. The Summer’s End Festival during Labor Day Weekend concludes the resort’s summer activities and welcomes its winter ones. Come out to the Mountain Village for an array of activities, or participate in the second mountain bike race and trail run in the Wintergreen Tread & Trail Series.

Cliffhanger Challenge Mountain Bike Race & Trail Run

The Cliffhanger Challenge Mountain Bike Race is on Saturday, May 28th, with last-minute registration and bib pickup starting at 7:30 AM. The race itself starts at 10 AM.

On Sunday, you can participate in the Cliffhanger Challenge Trail Run, with registration starting at 7:30 AM and the race beginning at 10 AM.

The 2016 Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival

It’s a battle for the best blues band and the best microbrews at this Memorial Day Weekend favorite. The Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival takes place Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th, with music performances by:
